Overview: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Prep Cook to join our culinary team. As a Prep Cook, you will play a crucial role in assisting with meal preparation and ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen. Responsibilities: - Assist in the preparation of ingredients for cooking, such as chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and measuring ingredients - Follow recipes and portion control guidelines to ensure consistency in food quality - Prepare and assemble dishes according to menu specifications - Assist with menu planning and contribute creative ideas for new dishes - Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient meal service - Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, equipment, and storage areas - Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards at all times - Assist with catering events or special functions as needed Skills: - Strong culinary skills with knowledge of various cooking techniques - Experience working in a kitchen environment preferred - Proficient knife skills for precise cutting and slicing - Ability to follow recipes accurately and adapt to changing menus - Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper handling procedures - Excellent time management skills to ensure efficient meal preparation - Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment - Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their culinary skills in a dynamic restaurant or dietary department setting.
