The successful candidate will lead a very accomplished firm with a 35 year history of growth and excellence in the industry. This is a significant senior leader role that offers a career path to higher level leadership. The Director of Engineering is responsible for capacity management and the direction of engineering resources and teams. This individual will be required to build solid working relationships with key stakeholders internally and externally and create a collaborative environment towards the achievement of client services and initiatives. They will manage to department operating budgets to achieve cost efficiencies.

What you'll do...

  • You will be a critical leader within the organization by communicating, motivating, and mentoring staff to translate vision and strategy to effective action.
  • You will define and drive the business vision for the site, including defining and balancing the need for staffing and development, technology advancement, financial management, and succession planning in order to support our customers and exceed our goals.
  • You will drive business development through communication of the brand and capabilities, leading business and technical discussions, and defining/executing strategies on how to win business.
  • You will be an accountable leader for the execution of customer projects and engagements and lead the management team to ensure project success.
  • You will recruit, develop, and oversee projecst and/or functional managers within the organization.
  • You will work with senior management to create and maintain a succession plan to ensure high potential employees are identified and prepared to fill critical management positions.
  • You will effectively develop and leverage senior level relationships with external and internal customers.
  • You will lead and inspire the organization to ensure quality is built into work products by owning the quality system, design process, and ensure technical success.
Qualifications:

Who we are looking for...

  • You have a Bachelors Degree in Engineering or a related telecommunication field expereince.
  • You have a minimum of 15 years of cable or telecom industry experience working in operations or specialist roles.
  • You have a strong understanding of Fiber and Hybrid Fiber Coax Networks.
  • You possess strong organizational, time management and analytical skills.
  • You have the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, demands with competing priorities, all while making timely decisions.
  • You can demonstrate leadership and coaching skills acquired through previous experience in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • You possess excellent interpersonal skills in order to drive strong relationshsip with other departments, internal and external customers.
