LHH is working with a construction company in the Carrollton area that is adding a Senior Accountant to their team. This company is ranked as one of the best construction firms in the United States, and in this role you will prepare recurring and ad hoc journal entries, conduct monthly balance sheet reconciliations, and actively participate in the month-end close process. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of accounting experience in the construction industry.

Job Responsibilities:

• Prepare recurring and ad hoc journal entries
• Timely and accurate preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Support month-end close process and related reporting
• Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly financial statements based on US GAAP
• Ensure compliance with internal control guidelines
• Collaborate on internal and external audit requests
• Document accounting procedures and SOPs
• Assist with various accounting functions as needed
• Identify and solve problems, exercising sound judgment
• Handle interactions tactfully with employees and department managers
• Support management with ad hoc requests, special projects, and initiatives
• Perform additional related duties as required and assigned

Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting or finance experience
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
• Preferred experience with Dynamics GP accounting software
• Preferred background in construction or manufacturing accounting, particularly in POC accounting or Job Costing
