JOB SUMMARY: NCEENT of South Durham - 5726 Fayetteville Road
JOB SUMMARY: We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to provide direct and indirect care to patients at NCEENT located in Durham, NC
$5,000 Commitment Bonus Eligible | Paid out in 2 equal installments over 12 months in 6-month increments (6 months and 12 months).
**Only new hires who have not worked for Duke University Health System in the past 12 months (at the time of offer) are eligible to receive the commitment bonus.**
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - The CMA takes medical histories and records vital signs, explains treatment procedures to patients, and prepares patients for examinations and procedures.
- Place orders as dictated by the physician
- Fulfills EOC Responsibilities- cleaning exam rooms, ordering and stocking supplies and restocking exam rooms, cleaning exam tables, maintain safe work environment by checking for expired supplies, medications, emptying sharps containers
- Document results of testing and labs as dictated by the physician
- Maintain and demonstrate an understanding of the team approach to patient care and documentation
- Assist and direct patients within the clinic setting
- Match records against source documents to verify accuracy of records and compliance with rules and procedures of appropriate system; resolve discrepancies in records by contacting appropriate office to obtain information on source of discrepancy and following through on changing any errors in documentation
- Treat all patient information and communication regarding patient care with complete confidentiality and comply with all HIPPA regulations
- Assist patient and physician during laser procedures
- Perform ancillary testing, including but not limited to Visual Field testing and OCT testing
- Travel to Satellite Locations for scheduled shifts
- Other duties as assigned by your manager or HCA.
JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS - High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) required
- Graduation from a medical assistant program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) strongly preferred.
- Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA or ARMA required.
- Level INo experience required.
- Level II1 year of clinical experience as a Medical Assistant, Certified in a clinical setting.
Job Hours: This clinic is open day shift Monday-Friday.
