Position Summary

The Sr. Analyst, IT - DevOps Engineer is responsible for aligning IT Operations and Release Management through best practices. The DevOps Engineer streamlines team efficiencies via team collaboration, documentation and automation while leveraging current and future enterprise tools. Working closely with management, project teams and business partner, the DevOps Engineer will improve IT application deliverables and service excellence.

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Functions as part of a world-class Application Operation Services (AOS) team focused on operations tasks related to application implementation and support, including release management, certificate management, and other operational support activities
  • Hands on automation skills designing, building and troubleshooting CI/CD pipelines in Infrastructure as Code of enterprise applications
  • Build and support highly available CI/CD tools for pipelines and related integrations
  • Perform analysis of DevOps practices, identify gaps and impediments for continuous integration and delivery
  • Automates software deployment processes by releasing incremental updates and developing automation tools.
  • Improves communication and collaboration to enable rapid product development by serving as the liaison between the development and operations teams.
  • Leads effort to automate and streamline all operational tasks, including security patching, routine maintenance, automated jobs, change and release implementations, move to productions, and other repeatable tasks
  • Leads effort to build Application Knowledge base, thus ensuring technical knowledge sharing across the application teams
  • Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein
  • Acts as a mentor to less experienced staff
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Education and Experience

BA or BS in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Information Technology-related field and 5 or more years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills, Training and Certifications

  • Advanced system/application support, business analyst, network/infrastructure administrator, system administrator or equivalent experience is required.
  • Windows and/or Linux operating system experience in an operational/engineering role is required.
  • Excellent customer service skills, strong interpersonal skills, excellent time management skills, excellent documentation skills, project management skills, strong presentation skills.
  • Working knowledge of ITIL, Agile and PMP or other project management framework and/or certification is strongly preferred
  • Must possess and employ the highest ethical and business standards and always conduct himself/herself with the greatest degree of professional integrity.
  • Proficient with scripting (i.e., Python, Bason, Shell, PowerShell, YAML)
  • Proficient with CI/CD pipeline configuration (i.e., Git, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Bamboo)
  • Experience with infrastructure automation tools (i.e., Ansible, Terraform)
  • Experience with containerization technology (i.e., Docker, Kubernetes) desirable
  • Excellent oral and written communications; an ability to present and discuss technical information in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others, and gains understanding.
  • Experience with system validation and documentation in a regulated environment.
  • Strong ability to collaborate with technical, business, vendor and individual contributors to define business process issues, analyze operational efficiencies, implement creative solutions, and deliver measurable results.
  • Continuously strives to improve service, deliver value-added solutions and make it easy for customers to interact with IT.
  • Demonstrates a willingness to accept new or additional responsibility
