Position: Heavy Equipment Operator

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 6 am-7 pm, limited Saturdays, and never a Sunday!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Safe Operation: Operate dozers to excavate, move, load, and grade earth, rock, gravel, and other materials safely.
• Grade Maintenance: Read grade stakes and use grade checkers, lasers, or GPS to maintain grade accuracy.
• Team Coordination: Work closely with other crew members using hand signals to ensure coordinated efforts and safety.
• Equipment Maintenance: Perform daily inspections and maintenance to ensure machinery is safe and in proper working order, including fluid checks and lubrication.
• Reporting: Report equipment maintenance and repair needs to the shop.
• Equipment Cleanliness: Keep equipment clean and prepare it for transport on flatbeds as required.
• Jobsite Safety: Maintain orderliness, cleanliness, and safety at the job site.
• Adherence to Instructions: Follow the Supervisor's instructions closely.

Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Safety Regulations: Understand and adhere to all safety regulations.
• Personal Protection: Comply with Personal Protection Equipment requirements.
• Safety Focus: Maintain an unwavering focus on safety.
• OSHA Compliance: Ensure compliance with OSHA standards.
• Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel throughout Central and Western Minnesota, Northern Iowa, and Eastern Dakotas.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

• Physical Activity: Ability to walk, bend, kneel, lift, stretch, and sit.
• Weather Conditions: Work outside in all weather conditions.
• Lifting: Handle lifting of various objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Extended Hours: Regularly work extended/overtime hours outdoors and in various weather conditions across all project locations.
• Travel Requirements: Travel is required. Throughout Southwestern MN, Watertown, SD, and northern IA
