Carpenter Helper
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Having tools required to perform tasks
2. Reviewing job schedule provided by the Lead Carpenter
3. Receiving work orders from the Lead Carpenter
4. Arriving onsite at the time that has been prearranged by the Lead Carpenter
5. Attending daily or weekly meetings at office to plan work
6. Treating all property owners and their homes with courtesy and respect at all times when arriving onsite
7. Preparing jobs and cleaning up:
a. Dropping cloths on floor.
b. Placing protective covers on furniture.
c. Moving furniture where necessary.
d. Dusting barrier installed if possible.
e. Setting up tools and materials required for daily tasks
f. Breaking down job at end of day (putting tools away, cleaning up)
8. Completing every job as per specifications, unless an approved Change Order has been priced and signed
9. Cleaning up job site at the end of each day, as well as when the scope of work has been completed. If the work has been completed and the property owner is on-site, assisting the Lead Carpenter in securing a signed Certificate of Satisfaction
10. Assisting with shop/warehouse tasks
Education and Experience:
Minimum: High School degree
Other Qualifications:
Carpentry and general construction trades skills
Exceptional customer relations skills
Internal and external customer service focus
Ability to communicate and work in a productive team environment
Effective oral and written communication skills
Effective time management skills and prioritize by highly profitable actions
Effective and creative use of problem solving skills
Must be self-motivated Goal setting to measure performance
Hourly Position: $15-20/hr based on experience
