Vortex Metal Manufacturing is seeking a Warehouse Technician to join our team! The Warehouse Technician will be expected to make repairs to any field equipment that is stored in the Vortex Metal Manufacturing warehouse, as well as accept incoming shipments and make job site deliveries when needed. The Warehouse Technician position requires adaptability and critical thinking skills to make sure the business is supported in a cost-effective way. The Warehouse Technician must also have strong communication and organizational skills to support and collaborate with the customers.

What You’ll Do:

  • Construction
    • Maintain and service power tools along with the preventative maintenance of the small engine tools.
    • Maintain inventory control for tools leaving the tool crib.
    • Possess administrative knowledge of the sign in/sign out procedures for renting tools.
    • Use a forklift to assist in loading and unloading trucks for shipping & receiving.
    • Maintain cleanliness of the tool crib and work area.
    • Deliver tools and materials to job sites in a safe and effective manner.
  • Sheet Metal Fabrication
    • Maintain and service machinery and equipment in the sheet metal production area.
    • Troubleshoot and identify problems with machinery.
    • Maintain an inventory on parts consumables for machinery.
  • Provide repairs and routine level checks for power tools, such as engine tune ups, oil changes, repair failures, repair mechanical and electrical systems malfunctions or body damage and replace parts and components.
  • Remove defective parts and replace them with functioning components.
  • Apply information, such as the periodic maintenance charts, step by step repair instructions, troubleshooting information and overhaul procedures to perform routine maintenance and repairs.
  • Disassemble machines following defined procedures and keeping inventory for the suitable handling of parts. Ensures that machines can be reassembled following disassembly.
  • Disassemble internal combustion engines, generators, pumps, transmissions and other components of mechanical equipment.
  • Inform customers about necessary repairs or replacements. Discuss products, services and costs including technically accurate information.
  • Advise customers on the appropriate products, methods and, if necessary, interventions to ensure proper maintenance and prevent premature damage of an object or installation.
  • Apply all company policies, principles, and rules that govern the activities and processes of an organization.
  • Keep written records of all repairs and maintenance interventions including information on parts and materials used, etc.
  • Regularly inspect and perform all required activities to maintain the equipment in functionally order prior to and after its use.

Qualifications


What You’ll Bring:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Able to use wire hand tools, such as crimp tools, cable strippers, and cable cutters.
  • Maintain the highest possible level of customer service and ensures that services are conducted professionally. Helps customers feel at ease and supports special requirements.
  • Must be able to lift applications that may exceed 50-75 lbs. throughout the day.
  • Must be able to crawl, kneel, squat, and climb. 
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
