Job Description

The Director of Commercial Lending Operations is responsible for leading the processing, servicing, and overall operations for DLP Loan origination and servicing businesses. Additionally, this leader is responsible for delivering exceptional service and speed to provide wow experiences for our borrowers. 

What you have already achieved: (Requirements) 

  • 5 years of experience in commercial loan processing and closing
  • Multifamily bridge, construction, development lending experience preferred 

What you are great at: (Responsibilities) 

  • Lead the day-to-day processing of new loan submissions, closings, and ongoing compliance, including loan extensions and payoffs.
  • Process and close loans quickly, creating urgency, while managing checklists and mitigating risks by flagging them.
  • Lead borrower pipeline management, overseeing new loans, extensions, and other aspects. Also, oversee management of DLP's origination pipeline, maturity, and compliance pipelines.
  • Collaborate with department heads to develop, document, improve, and implement workflows for loan processing, closing, and servicing.
  • Develop audit of departmental systems, processes, and documentation.
  • Ensure systems are consistently up to date and accurate. Take the lead as systems administrator and oversee the Finastra conversion for the Servicing team.
  • Monitor and enhance portfolio matrices and reports, encompassing insurance, tax, title monitoring, watch list, and special servicing reports.
  • Take ownership of overall borrower communications and proactively track them. Assist in developing borrower statements and standardized payoff letters.
  • Actively manage Vendor Management functions and develop scorecards and SLAs. Oversee HMDA and other compliance requirements.
  • Work closely with the relationship management team and transaction management to drive excellent communication and compliance with borrowers, delivering WOW while establishing and maintaining high standards.
  • Prepare the Servicing department to undergo internal audit and Reg AB review by the end of Q3 2024
  • Lead development and maintenance of departmental SOPs and processes.
  • Collaborate with legal teams (internal and external) for servicing matters.
