Were always looking for outstanding people to join our mission!About This RoleAs a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be a member of our small but growing DevOps team responsible for designing and implementing cloud infrastructure in Azure, building and maintaining tools for application development and deployment, and providing support for application, data, and security engineers. You will be working to improve our monitoring and alerting using Datadog and OpsGenie, as well as ensuring service uptime and scalability in response to surging user traffic loads. You will also be given a large degree of autonomy to help plan and design our infrastructure strategy for the next evolution of ButcherBox cloud architecture.Our software engineering teams maintain many different codebases which power ButcherBox - from our customer-facing ecommerce frontend to middle and backend API services to multiple third-party API integrations. You will be supporting these teams by maintaining and improving our local and cloud-based environments using docker-compose, k8s, Helm, Terraform, Function Apps, Container Apps, Github Actions, and more.We also support our data teams, who use technologies such as Databricks, Delta Lake, and PowerBI, to help them implement and scale their data infrastructure in Azure using infrastructure as code and CI/CD best practices.ResponsibilitiesCreate and maintain cloud infrastructure as code using Terraform Manage local and cloud-based environments for all stages of application development and testing Build and maintain development tools for engineering and data teams Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Github Actions workflows Ensure appropriate application and infrastructure logging and monitoring Find and mitigate application, cloud and network vulnerabilities Implement and refine security, access control, and software development policies Participate in on-call rotationRequirements5 years in a DevOps role designing infrastructure patterns for distributed architecture Experience building and deploying containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes Experience with a cloud infrastructure environment (Azure, AWS or GCP) Experience with configuration management tools Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines Experience with proxy systems such as apache, nginx and haproxy Experience with Git and GitHub Experience with multiple programming languages, including shell scripting Experience with SQL and database performance monitoring Deep knowledge of networking and system administration Familiarity with infrastructure, application, and system security practices Experience with agile software development methodologiesNice to haveFamiliarity with PHP, JS, and MySQL Experience mentoring and managing engineersWhat We OfferOur Values We are a mission-driven company and strive to embody our values in every step of the process.
