Quality Assurance Supervisor Job Description

District Photo, Inc., a leader in the digital printing industry, is searching for an experienced Quality Assurance Manager for our Beltsville, MD. The ideal candidate is someone who is analytical, creative, and always coming up with new ways to satisfy needs and encourage our staff members.

Overview

Responsible for designing, implementing, and enforcing quality controls in order to maintain internal and external standards. Communicate expectations to employees and provide coaching and corrective action when needed. Must be an excellent communicator with a strong desire to help others.

Quality Assurance Manager Responsibilities:

· Design, implement and improve company quality standards.

· Develop Standard Operating Procedures throughout the manufacturing process.

· Assess customer requirements and ensure they are met.

· Provide written management and technical reports as well as customers’ charters.

· Analyze data in order to find areas for growth.

· Assist in the recruiting process.

· Train, motivate, coach, and correct employees to ensure that standards are met.

· Create reports and visual methods to provide encouragement and to track progress.

· Formulate strategies to increase productivity and maximize profitability.

· Review processes to ensure that they align with current trends.

· Implement, control processes, and manage staff across multiple facilities and all 3 shifts.

· Act as a catalyst for change and improvement in performance and quality.

· Ensure that products meet specification and quality standards.

· Make recommendations and partner with the quality team and continuous Improvement liaison to implement effective and efficient production methods, equipment performance and quality of product.

· Maintain ADP via attendance record management, approving time and attendance, editing employee schedules, generating reports, managing labor hours, and maintain employee’s information.

· Work with Trainers to identify learning and skill gaps.

· Addresses employee issues through effective performance managements and according to company policies and procedures.

· Suggest and/ or implements changes to increase efficiency of manpower and of production flow, i.e., working conditions, use of equipment’s, scheduling, quality.

· Demonstrates the core values of District Photo Inc.

· Educate new hires on the proper techniques for each department, use of personal protective equipment, and the most effective techniques needed to achieve quality products.

· Communicate the process to new hires and provide them weekly goals/ targets necessary to qualify for assigned position.

· Evaluate and document daily/ weekly progress reports for trainees and review with Trainees and their supervisors until qualification is achieved.

Quality Assurance Manager Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree preferred with proven experience in the manufacturing field.

· Thorough knowledge of methodologies of quality assurance and standards.

· Technical proficiency, good knowledge of MS Office and databases

· Excellent numerical skills and understanding of data analysis/statistical methods.

· Excellent communication skills.

· Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.

· A desire to help others achieve their best.

· Willingness to assist other departments to develop solutions and metrics.

· Great attention to details with a result driven approach.

· Shift and “on call” work may be required during seasonal periods of high volumes, or during “trouble shooting” activities

· Monitor and correct/ retrain Team Members exhibiting behaviors that are contrary to training; schedule time for additional help as needed.

· Collaborate with production floor staff to create Value Stream maps, job instructions, training checklists, etc.

·Create standard operating procedures (SOP) documentation in all departments for all operational processes.

· Create presentations and provide process training to floor staff.

· Gather quality assurance data. Use MS Excel and PowerPoint to organize data into useful charts and graphs for presentation to Leadership.

· Conduct quality assurance and process compliance audits regularly.

· Track audit compliance across multiple auditors.

· Lead regular quality assurance meetings with all production departments.

· Close facility on scheduled rotation.
