Position Overview

Dependable, along with the Individual and their family, are looking for a live-in caregiver to reside and support a male individual in his own home. He has a great sense of humor, likes getting into the community, and enjoys working out regularly.

The roommate/part-time care provider is eligible to receive a monthly reimbursement for rent as well as a food stipend. Additionally, the care provider will receive compensation as an employee of Dependable for daytime personal care assistance. Ideally, the person would make at least a one-year commitment.

The basement is available for the live-in caregiver to reside and incudes a refrigerator, bedroom, bathroom, living room, and shared laundry. The kitchen is on the main level and also a shared space.

Location: Bloomington, MN

Rate of Pay: $17/hour $3/hour for awake hours worked Saturdays and Sundays

Hours: 22.5

• Monday 6am-8am
• Tuesday 6am-8am
• Wednesday 6am-8am
• Thursday 6am-8am
• Friday 3:30pm-10pm *every other Friday
• Saturday 6am-10pm *every other week

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Direct Support professionals (DSP's) work with individuals with disabilities to help them gain skills and more independence in areas such as communication, cooking, housekeeping, budgeting, personal safety, health, and recreation.

The roommate/caregiver would be available to provide support during the timeframes listed above.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Ability to lift, bend, and perform transfers
• Ability to pass a Department of Human Services background check
• Must have a valid driver's license, insurance, and reliable transportation
• Clear and effective communication skills
• Strength in flexibility and problem solving
• Previous experience as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) is welcomed, but not required
