UW Health is Hiring a Medical Lab Technician - Support Services Near Madison, WI

Job Description
Work Schedule:
This is a full-time, FTE 1.0 position. Monday - Friday, 11:30am - 8:00pm, rotating weekends and 1-2 holiday shifts per year. Hours vary based on department needs.
Pay:
  • External hires may be eligible for up to a $3000 sign on bonus.

We are seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) - Support Services to:
  • Perform moderately complex diagnostic tests and limited high complexity testing.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on select lab equipment or instruments.
  • Perform troubleshooting on select laboratory equipment or instruments as a scientist.
  • Promote culture of safety for patients through proper identification, proper reporting, documentation and prevention of medical errors in a non-punitive environment.

Education:
Minimum - Associate degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology.
OR education and training equivalent to an associate degree to include 60 semester hours including either:
• 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses or
• 24 semester hours of science courses
Preferred - Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology Bachelor's degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or chemical, physical, or biological science (biology)
Work Experience:
Preferred - One year experience as Medical Laboratory Technician or relevant laboratory experience
Licenses and Certifications:
Minimum -
Preferred - Certification Medical Laboratory Technician by the board of American Society of Clinical Pathologists or similar agency
