Each of the more than 500 staff who work in the Office of the Attorney General are dedicated to serving all Delawareans with integrity and passion. Deputy Attorneys General, with critical support from criminal special investigators, victim service specialists, paraprofessionals, and administrative staff, prosecute criminal cases, enforce consumer laws, provide counsel to state agencies, ensure the public's access to open government, protect the abused, and much more.

Summary Statement

The Department of Justice is seeking a Legal Administrative Specialist for the Civil Division, to serve in the Defensive Litigation Unit in New Castle County.� This Legal Administrative Specialist provides clerical/administrative support to Deputy Attorneys General in the Defensive Litigation Unit.� In addition to general administrative support, duties include document management, scanning, printing, copying, organizing, and assembling binders for hearings, transcribing, formatting, and proofreading documents, and correspondence, opening new case files, downloading dockets, and tracking assignments, process and track invoices to appropriate agency contact, assist in scheduling and calendaring of case and unit events. File management to include closing and archiving. Duties also include monitoring court dockets.�

Essential Functions

Assures effective coordination of operational functions for assigned unit/attorneys. Arranges for the delivery of legal paperwork. Types correspondence and legal paperwork.� Schedules, coordinates, and confirms court dates, appointments, interviews, intakes, and meetings. Establishes tracking and monitoring systems and conducts follow up to ensure timely resolution of matters. Maintains and controls data and/or filing systems to ensure effective, accurate and easily retrievable legal documentation.
