The Production Planner is responsible for scheduling production, creating manufacturing orders and ensuring sufficient inventory is available at production facilities to complete manufacturing orders. They coordinate with Sales, Procurement, Transportation, Warehouse, and Production Managers to fulfill their responsibilities.
Essential Functions
  • Review sales orders and forecasts and calculate materials needed for production.
  • Review material requirements and inventory levels and coordinate with Procurement to order needed materials factoring in lead times.
  • Coordinate with production managers to formulate production plans and create manufacturing orders to meet shipping deadlines.
  • Troubleshoot issues that arise and adjust production plans accordingly.
  • Continuously monitor inventory to utilize materials in the proper rotation.
  • Collect, review, and analyze production data and identify ways to minimize cost and maximize efficiency.
  • Input production data into the system and report on results.
  • Special projects as assigned

Required Education & Experience
  • Candidate must have high school diploma or general education degree (GED);
  • 3 years related production planning experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents written in English.
