The DHA oversees the delivery of health care services like the TRICARE Health Plan, pharmacy, public health, and health information technology. DHA carries out these operations using a global health care network of military and civilian medical professionals and more than 400 military hospitals and clinics. This network strengthens the delivery of health care to MHS beneficiaries by merging proven clinical and business practices and emphasizing the experience of the patient. Exciting changes are taking place as we are in the process of reorganizing how we manage the militarys medical centers, hospitals and clinics around the world, shifting administration and management responsibility for these facilities from the Army, Navy and Air Force to the Defense Health Agency.
