Optical Engineering Intern

Job Description:

This position will utilize the candidates optical, mechanical, electrical, and software skills to build and automate optical laser diode characterization setups for engineering. 

• Mount and characterize laser diodes
• Use opto-electronic test equipment to characterize laser performance
• Optimize / expand existing equipment
• Summarize data in database/Excel
• Report and present findings using PowerPoint or slides

Educational and Experience Requirements, Degree program preferred:

• Completion of at least one years of a traditional four-year degree program, majoring in EE, Physics, Materials Science, or other technical discipline
• Basic understanding of electrical measurements
• Basic understanding of electronic principals, including understanding of semiconductor devices
• Basic computer programming skills
• Ability to work with minimal direct supervision.
