Recruiting Profile:
Dal-Tile is currently seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Specialist to join our TEAM! As the Environmental Health & Safety Specialist, we need someone who develops, coordinates, conducts and audits plant environmental, health and safety programs.
Primary Objective:
  • Develops, coordinates, conducts and audits plant environmental, health and safety programs.
  • Manages the Dal-Tile Safety Management System and Global Health & Safety Auditing Program.
Major Function and Scope:
  • Administers safety and environmental programs for the manufacturing facility.
  • Administers, organizes and conducts training programs for safety, including forklift certification.
  • Coordinates plant Central Safety and Health committee\subcommittees and facilitates the continuous improvement process.
  • Conducts hazard and safety assessments and maintains applicable records.
  • Coordinates with Headquarters EHS Department to ensure compliance with all related regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Schedules and conducts training on hazardous communications, equipment operations, safety operations, and maintains related training records.
  • Investigates and tracks job injuries and lost workdays and maintains OSHA log, documentation, records and activity.
  • Develops and conducts training with system administrators at various sites.
  • Develop and implement process to manage the online safety and health management system.
  • Develop and initiate reports and dashboards using safety and health management system.
  • Responsible for maintaining and auditing requisite OSHA logs for each site and\or facility.
  • Review of workers compensation and OSHA case classification for reporting purposes for each site and\or facility.
  • Coordinate and manage internal Safety & Health inspection program.
Experience and Knowledge Required:
  • 1 or more years’ experience in health and safety.
  • Training development and presentation experience.
  • Associates of Applied Science required.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Knowledge and education of workers compensation compliance requirements and OSHA regulations.
Competencies:
Core competencies include strong communication and problem-solving skills, data analysis and interpretation, decision making, and ability to prioritize. Good computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets and databases.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands and reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee may sit, climb, balance, talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this position includes close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
