Pharmacy Technician - Inpatient Inventory Purchaser *Up To $2000 Hiring Bonus* Portland , Oregon **Description:**

**Providence is calling a Pharmacy Technician - Inpatient Inventory Purchaser (1.0 FTE, Rotating/ Variable) to Providence St Vincent Medical Center in Portland** **, OR. This position will work days and evenings (4 10s) during weekdays and weekends.**

We are seeking a Pharmacy Technician - Inpatient Inventory Purchaser that will act as a coordinator for the purchase of pharmaceuticals; maintains efficient system(s) for ordering, receiving, managing and reconciling discrepancies in inventory; minimizes standing inventory with appropriate turn-over to avoid out-dating; maintains an adequate, cost-effective supply of drugs.

**In this position you will have the following responsibilities:**

* Assist Pharmacy Leadership in the purchasing of pharmaceuticals, inventory control, and in the utilization of purchasing contracts to purchase pharmaceuticals in accordance with hospital policies and Oregon Administrative Rules, and federal statutes

* Maintain consistent inventory turns

* Maintain adequate drug supplies

* Report drug cost exceptions on a monthly basis

* Coordinate year-end inventory and annual narcotic count

* Carry out duties of Pharmacy Technician as necessary per the pharmacy technician job description

* Act in a collaborative, cooperative manner as needed to assist in optimal pharmacy function

* Maintain professional competency

* Meet the Board of Pharmacy requirements

* Complete annual competencies

* Serve as a link between management and hospital staff to communicate and resolve problems (i.e. medication availability, distribution and delivery of pharmacy services)

* Act as the primary resource for resolution of drug shortages between primary and secondary purveyors

**Qualifications:**

**Required qualifications for this position includes:**

* Must be a certified pharmacy technician (CPhT)

* Six (6) months of healthcare purchasing/inventory control experience

**Preferred qualifications for this position include:**

* Three (3) years of Pharmacy technician experience in an inpatient or managed care pharmacy setting
