Job Title: Power Tool Operator

Overview:

As a Power Tool Operator, you will play a crucial role in the construction and maintenance of highways and roadways. Your primary responsibility will be operating heavy power tools and equipment to assist in tasks such as cutting, drilling, and shaping various materials used in highway construction and repair projects. You will work closely with construction teams to ensure efficiency and safety in all operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate heavy power tools and equipment such as jackhammers, concrete saws, drills, pavement breakers, jumping jacks, plate tampers, core drills, chain saws, hammer, drill, generators, etc.
  • Perform precise cutting, drilling, and shaping of materials including concrete, asphalt, and metal as per project specifications.
  • Assist in the demolition and removal of old pavement, structures, and other obstacles on highways and roadways.
  • Collaborate with construction teams to ensure timely completion of projects while adhering to safety protocols and quality standards.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and inspection of tools and equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance.
  • Follow safety procedures and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries on job sites.
  • Operate heavy machinery and vehicles as required for transportation and maneuvering of materials.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas to promote a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to coordinate tasks and resolve any issues that may arise during operations.
  • Adhere to all regulatory requirements and company policies related to equipment operation, safety, and environmental protection.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Previous experience operating heavy power tools and equipment in a construction or similar industrial setting.
  • Proficiency in the safe and efficient operation of jackhammers, concrete saws, drills, and other relevant tools.
  • Strong understanding of construction techniques and materials used in highway and roadway projects.
  • Ability to interpret and follow project plans, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for precise tool operation.
  • Physical stamina and strength to perform tasks requiring prolonged standing, bending, lifting, and repetitive motion.
  • Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions and environments.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record may be required, depending on job location and duties.
