The Communications Apprentice will assist in a variety of projects with the Communications team. The hospital's Communications Department handles a variety of internal and external communications efforts for a broad spectrum of publics, including patients and their families, employees, physicians, media, community members and local and state government. 

Some Duties/ Projects include:

• Conduct interviews, draft articles and take photos for internal and external communication pieces.
• Draft and send news releases.
• Assist with messaging on social media.
• Assist with special events within and outside the hospital
• Assist with content on Internal Intranet and hospital webpage
• Assist with preparation of and participation in employee activity events
• Assist with mailings and the distribution of communications pieces.
• Update media list and collect news clips.
• Provide communications/logistic support for Community Engagement initiatives, both internally and externally.

Job Requirements: Undergraduate seniors who will be receiving bachelors’ degrees within the 2023/24 academic year with a major in the Arts, Social Sciences, and Humanities.

Excellent written, verbal communications and computer skills; professional demeanor; organized; ability to work independently on assignments; is a ‘quick study.’ 40 hours/week; some evening and weekends may be required for special events/community activities. Experience with WordPress, Canva, Constant Contact and other platforms a plus. Please include any previous work for clubs, groups or internships related to the above skill set.
