    The Payroll Accountant reports to the Payroll & Benefits Manager to ensure the financial accuracy of monthly payrolls; coordinates state retirement reporting with the State of Washington Department of Retirement Systems; complies with federal tax reporting requirements; and provides employee customer services in the resolution of pay and/or benefits issues. Note this role is full time in office and not a remote position.
    POSITION DESCRIPTION:
    Professional- Technical Level H
    12 month working calendar
    8 hours per day
    Shift: 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Shift is subject to change.
    Salary: Step 1- $97,176 or Step 2- $99,159 DOE
    FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
    • A bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting or similar field. Additional professional experience may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
    • Experience using WESPaC/WSIPC database or equivalent system preferred.
    • Five or more years of payroll experience, preferably in a public school setting.
