SUMMARY:
The Lab Scientist will assist with revising SOP's, serve as back-up for heavy metals and minerals analysis, create work instructions for analysis of different finished products, and develop, verify, and method transfer all analyzing active ingredients such as raw materials, bench samples, stability samples, and finished goods.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Method Development, Verification, method transfer for analyzing active ingredients from:
  • Finished Goods
  • Raw materials
  • Bench samples (R&I)
  • Stability samples
• UHPLC (Thermo Fischer Scientific) and chromeleon software.
• Create and Revise SOP's for newly developed and existing methods.
• Create Work Instructions for analysis of different Finished Products.
• Gas Chromatography (GC).
• HPTLC Linomat 5.
• Serve as back-up for heavy metals and minerals analysis (ICP-OES).
• Assist with revising SOP for shelf life studies.
• Order & Post RFP's (supplies, repairs, etc.).
• Maintenance of Temperature and Humidity logs with analytical labs.
• Responsible for GLP's and lab inventory.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

• Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products required.
• Must possess strong organizational and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented, ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks with strict deadlines.
• Able to use logic and reasoning to identify solutions to problems.
• Takes initiative and seeks additional training or direction as needed.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, microbiology, nutrition, or a related field (Required).
• A minimum of one (1) year of experience in a field, laboratory, or production facility in a Quality regulated environment (Preferred).
• One (1) year of experience on HPTLC Linomat 5 (Preferred).
• Bilingual Korean English with the ability to speak, read, and write (Highly Preferred).
• Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment (Preferred).
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites (Required).

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Manufacturing work environment. Constant physical activities are required for this position. Able to tolerate working environment with inside hot and cold temperatures.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Activities include the ability to reach overhead, squat, and bend at the waist; the ability to lift up to 50 pounds or more; the ability to climb up and down stairs throughout a shift; tolerance of standing posture continuously during shift; and intense walking. Dexterity for manipulating work materials; repetitive motion; proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English. Ability to respond to safety signals, such as those generated by forklifts.
