Cortica is looking for a Research Coordinator – Phlebotomist to join our growing Team!

In this role, you will be instrumental in the execution of clinical trials through handling all phlebotomy-related tasks and participating as an active member of the Research Coordinator team. Beyond lab responsibilities, this role is responsible for administrative duties such as data management, participant recruitment, and scheduling, ensuring each research visit is conducted efficiently and accurately. Your role also involves extensive community engagement, raising awareness and facilitating participation in trials, especially among neurodiverse children and adolescents.

What will you do?

  • Serve as an in-house phlebotomist for all active clinical trials. Responsibilities include drawing blood, processing blood and urine samples, packaging, and shipping out all samples in adherence to applicable protocols.
  • Independently perform tasks for on-site clinical trials.
  • Operate in a self-directed manner, with support from the research coordinator team, global research coordinator, and principal investigator as needed.
  • Serve as a research coordinator for investigational clinical trials, with opportunities for close exposure to the variety of trials currently underway at Cortica.
  • Communicate with families and organizations throughout the community to spread awareness of research opportunities for local children and adolescents.
  • Recruit, screen, schedule, enroll, and run participants both in-clinic and in-home.
  • Coordinate with study sponsors to ensure regulatory documents and processes are properly completed and acted upon.
  • Organize participant scheduling, internal calendars, participant data, and visit coordination.
  • Provide on-site support for part-time research assistants.
  • Perform various research assessments, which may include ECGs and taking vitals or engaging with eye-tracking software.
  • Work closely with the primary research coordinator and the study principal Investigator to ensure all visit tasks are performed to protocol.
  • Maintain secure and accurate data collection, entry, and record-keeping.
  • Maintain organization of all study materials, including lab or assessment kits and investigational product.
  • Frequently travel around the community to provide accessibility to research for local families.

  • You hold an active phlebotomy certificate in the state of California.
  • You bring 2 years of professional experience, highlighting skills of organization, reliability, and collaboration and 1 years of experience in pediatric phlebotomy and laboratory procedures.
  • You have 1 years of clinical research experience.
  • You have experience working with neurodiverse children and/or adolescents.

The base pay range for this opening is $66,560 . According to your skill level, relevant experience, education level, and location, you will receive compensation that fits appropriately within the range.
