Position Purpose :
The primary purpose of this position is to gain market share and increase the skylight category by influencing the trade and facilitating the sales through key VELUX dealers. This includes the development, execution, and coordination of all sales efforts within a specified territory including interface with Dealers, Builders, Contractors, Remodelers, Roofers and Architects. This position must regularly be out identifying and/or soliciting "new" or "expanded" sales opportunities within their assigned territory. In addition, this position will regularly perform special projects or assignments which are of significance to the Sales Management Team in that region.
Primary Functions:
  • Developing and following a comprehensive annual territory plan to identify and pursue the greatest opportunities for sales growth.
  • Making sales presentations to dealers, builders, contractors and architects to ensure that VELUX product lines are being promoted in a professional, timely and effective manner to achieve sales results.
  • Trains dealers, builders, contractors and architects in the proper application and installation of VELUX product lines.
  • Performing special projects or assignments for the Sales Management Team in that region.
  • Works within established budget to control expenses and to maximize profitability within the specified territory.
  • Completing required reports and analysis in a timely manner.
Secondary Functions:
  • May assist in the training of recently hired individuals within the Sales Force.
  • Performing field service activities as needed within specified territory.
  • Travel to help other sales representatives conduct training sessions, perform field service activities, or participate in local trade shows.
Position Location: This is a remote position working from a home office. This position covers the Boston, MA sales territory.
Starting Monthly Salary: $6830 - $8540 A salary geographic differential may be added based on where the candidate lives. The compensation level will be based on the skills and experience of the candidate.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelors Degree is preferred.
  • A good working knowledge of the building industry is preferred.
  • Three to five years of Outside Sales Experience is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of computers (PC) including Microsoft Office.
  • Must present a positive and professional appearance.
  • Excellent communication, both oral and written, and presentation skills are a must.
  • Ability to stay informed of current industry trends and apply information to sales opportunities.
  • Ability to demonstrate high level of customer focus.
  • Excellent decision making and problem solving skills.
  • Must possess strong influence and persuasion skills.
  • Must possess strong planning, prioritizing, and goal setting skills.
  • Must demonstrate strong relationship management skills.
  • Must be capable of lifting/reaching/stooping/climbing with weights in excess of 100 lbs.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions assigned to the position.
  • Compliance with all rules of conduct, safety regulations and policies provided in Employee Handbooks, on Company bulletin boards/announcements, terms/conditions of employment or other means of communication is a requirement of the job.
