We are seeking engineering graduates in the fields of Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering to perform engineering and design services.

We have fantastic opportunities for design engineers to support pipeline and utility design, and mapping using AutoCAD. The work includes documenting features such as utilities, incorporating survey and property/right-of-way information, developing exhibits for communication and permitting, and preparing construction drawings. The work is primarily in the office, but there are often great opportunities to perform field investigations and validation for the pipeline and utility designs. The primary tool used in this work is AutoCAD Civil3D and Plant 3D. Some design engineers also use GIS and drones as part of the workflow process and development of deliverables, depending on project requirements and the initiative of individuals to learn and apply ESRI and other GIS systems to the completion of the work.

Engineers in this position have typically learned quickly through increasingly challenging assignments, and their role has grown to include coordination with other engineering disciplines, project engineering and project management. Job duties will also include interfacing with clients and construction contractors, field investigation, and construction support.

Job Requirements

Candidates must be able to use AutoCAD and have an understanding of the use of external references, photo manipulation, and AEC objects. Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil3D and/or Plant 3D is a plus. Position also requires the demonstrated ability to learn new software, standards, and work in a team environment. Successful applicants will learn the engineering and design aspects of these facilities while enhancing their AutoCAD capabilities, with potential to develop to project engineer and lead design engineer positions.

• Prior AutoCAD experience or relevant training is required
• GIS experience is a plus, but not required
• B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering is required
• EIT certification is a plus, but not required
• Some experience with construction is a plus, but not required
• Specific related pipeline or utility-related design experience, either with an engineering firm or utility operator, and command of AutoCAD Civil3D and ArcGIS is a plus, but not required
• Candidate must be able to communicate effectively with team members in both verbal and written form
• Local candidates are preferred
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record is required
