Job Description

The Director of Finance will be responsible for the development of the company’s financial management strategies and contribute to the development of the organization’s strategic goals. This role is responsible for the internal control structure of the business along with ensuring accurate and timely financial statement submissions to Industrious Group. Forecasting and budgeting are also a responsibility under this position. 

Essential Functions Performed by the Position

  • Lead the Finance department and all activities finance-related, in coordination with all Company’s functions.
  • Advise the president and other key members of senior management on financial planning, budgeting, cash flow, investment priorities, and policy matters.
  • Prepare timely and accurate Company’s financial analyses, summaries, and reports, including all needed data for Group.
  • Lead the preparation and presentation of any financial reporting and data, which may be needed by the Company.
  • Maintain continuous lines of communication, keeping the president informed of all critical issues.
  • Routinely review financial cycle metrics to identify and address issues affecting overall performance proactively.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute the annual budget process.
  • Establish and monitor staff performance and development goals, assign accountabilities, set objectives, establish priorities, conduct annual performance appraisals, and administer salary adjustments.
  • Mentor and develop staff using a supportive and collaborative approach; assign accountabilities; set objectives; establish priorities; and monitor and evaluate results.
  • Manage the company’s compliance with local and federal regulatory matters.
  • Member of the Company’s senior leadership team. Actively contribute to all the activities developed within the senior leadership team.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. 
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. 
  • Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. 
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree with ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • MBA preferred

Licenses or Certifications Required

  • Certified Public Accountant certification preferred

Environment and Working Conditions

  • Normal Office and Industrial Plant Environment

Travel Requirements (percent)

  • 10% As required.
