Our mission at ENT Associates, a division of ENT Care Centers, is to provide our community with exceptional Otolaryngology services by supporting our patients with high-quality care rooted in compassion.
This full-time position is Monday-Friday. The interested person must be flexible and reliable.
Under the general supervision of the Office Manager, this position will provide a helpful and welcoming environment to patients in our practice.
Duties and Responsibilities
Warmly greeting patients and visitors in person or on the telephone
Professionally answering or referring inquiries to the appropriate person or parties
Completing check-in/out functions as directed
Scheduling, rescheduling, appointment reminders, and canceling patient appointments
Mailing updated patient forms as appropriate when scheduling
Entering and validating patient insurance information for scheduling purposes
Daily review of patient accounts for insurance status, patient balances due missing information, etc.
Collection of balances due, copay and/or deductibles according to standard practice
Sorting, filling, and forwarding of incoming electronic and manual faxes appropriately.
Scanning and attaching all pertinent documentation into appropriate patient’s medical record
Maintaining a clean, orderly work environment
Overseeing flow of waiting areas, monitoring patient wait time and communicates delays to patients
Check In / Check Out Patients, including:
Ready the patient charts for the day
Screen updated paperwork for correctness or missing information, collect insurance cards/photo ID if applicable, obtain consent for treatment, and scan all documentation.
Validate insurance information and update patient demographic information.
Collect any copays, coinsurance, or deductibles.
Schedule follow up appointments, scans, tests, labs as directed by physicians.
Travel to satellite locations per the physician’s patient schedules and needs.
Requirements
High School Diploma required
Minimum 2 years’ experience in similar medical office setting is required
Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective and professional relationships with team members, physicians, management and other vendors
Exceptional customer service skills including the ability to use independent thinking, sound judgment and creativity when resolving issues
Ability to balance multiple priorities and effectively handle challenging situations
Knowledge of basic office procedures and office machines (i.e. computer, fax, copier, etc.) as well as experience with Microsoft Office suite-Word, Excel, Outlook
