Description
Advantage Behavioral Health Systems provides person-centered treatment and recovery support to individuals and families experiencing behavioral health challenges, intellectual/developmental disabilities, and addictive diseases.
Women's Services (WTRS) at Advantage is a residential treatment program serving pregnant and/or parenting women and their children ages 13 and under. WTRS providers work with individuals who are at high risk for relapse, are pregnant, have Child Protective Services or Family Support Involvement, criminal justice involvement, psychiatric disorders, and are sufficiently medically stable to participate in treatment. Providers utilize evidence-based practices that address risk factors for relapse and empower women to achieve identified goals with a flexible range of options for treatment. WTRS help to identify barriers to employment, education, housing, family roles and responsibilities, while focusing on unique strengths, preferences, and natural supports in the community. Vocational assistance includes job training, job matching, educational resources, and other supports to allow individuals to gain experience and ability in the community.

Health Services Technician (WTRS)
Essential Job Responsibilities
  • Assists incoming residents in settling into living quarters by conducting a search of baggage and personal items, escorting them to assigned quarters, distributing bedding and personal care items, and providing introductions to roommates.
  • Follow-ups on recent vacancies by washing and collecting used bedding and personal items left by previous consumers.
  • Maintains facility ensuring necessary appliances are available, furniture, fixtures, and appliances are in safe and clean condition.
  • Reviews electronic logbook from previous shift to ensure knowledge of communications throughout previous shift and to assist consumers with issues or concerns not resolved from previous shift.
  • Informs Housing staff of any incidents needing immediate attention and completes incident reports when needed.
  • Makes daily rounds and room inspections to ensure that all participants are at their designated locations/appointments and ensure cleanliness of rooms. Documents findings and concerns from daily rounds and inspections. Reports as necessary.
  • Answers incoming calls and responds to callers in an appropriate manner and distributes all messages to appropriate staff.
  • Occasionally provides supportive services (i.e., reflection groups, and affirmations) and other therapeutic activities to participants and their children to effect positive change in behavioral and/or social settings.
  • Makes daily entries in electronic log book for other staff members concerning consumers and events.
  • Makes copies of work order requests and files copies of work orders appropriately.
  • Assists in conducting initial and random searches of consumers and visitor's belongings and properly disposes of inappropriate items.
  • Logs new medication and provides medication monitoring for consumers.
  • Gathers daily paperwork, makes copies when necessary, and files and/or distributes as appropriate.
  • Distributes mail to residents.
  • Conduct initial and random urine screens on consumers.
  • Assembles and monitors residents for meetings.
  • Provides transportation services to consumers as needed.
  • Informs program staff in writing of client encounters, progress, or concerns
  • Completes required shift documentation.
  • Maintain log of vehicle use, routes, and maintenance
  • Operate motor vehicles to transport individuals to and from various appointments.
  • Maintain a high level of encouragement and respect to all individuals being transported.
  • Safely assist individuals as needed in and out of vehicles.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on vehicles and records mileage, gas, cleaning and oil usage
  • On-going positive and proactive communication with team members to ensure all relevant program or related information is passed along.
  • Reporting to the supervisor any abuse or neglect or other incidents that put consumers, children/youth, staff or the program in jeopardy.
  • Possible involvement in community planning teams, task forces, etc.
  • Utilization of a positive, caring and supportive trauma informed approach as well as communication style with clients.
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
  • Ability to demonstrate fairness and flexibility as required to accommodate the emerging needs of clients as well as the needs of a developing program.
  • Compliance with agency policies and program procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be able to pass background screening which includes fingerprinting and drug testing.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Failure to maintain a good driving record based on insurance guidelines will result in immediate termination.
