Complete Health is Hiring a Referral Coordinator - Imaging Near Birmingham, AL

Job Description
Pay: $16 - $18/hr
Schedule: Monday - Friday, Full Time, Days
This polished and professional person will have excellent communication skills and be a caring and compassionate person able to put patients at ease. Shall coordinate all patient referrals at the request of the Providers, Clinic, etc. Will schedule and notify patients of appointments and give all instructions necessary. Will enter all referrals into the EMR system, will track and record reports as they are received. Shall work closely with assigned doctors and staffs to refer patients to appropriate services on a timely basis to ensure quality patient care. Must be able to read and write legibly, utilize a computer and follow detailed written and verbal instructions.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :
  • Efficiently coordinates and follows up on referrals for specialties or diagnostics.
    Schedules all appointments accurately while coordinating with the patient and outside provider.
  • Communication with patients and providers and provides all necessary information.
  • Maintains appropriate logs of all referrals. Tracks and records reports into the EMR system as they are received.
  • Obtains consultation reports and provides them to the appropriate doctor.
  • Works in cooperation with outside agencies to help patients apply for alternate resources when appropriate.
  • Coordinate transportation to referral points or the clinic, as needed.
  • Attends meetings with physicians and staffs as necessary and assists in educating clinic staff regarding the referral process
  • Files referral authorizations as necessary
  • Copy and fax referrals authorizations.
  • Exhibits the ability to manage time well and work under stressful conditions with an even temperament.
  • Displays ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with other employees and the public.
  • Completes all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have basic computer skills including word processing and a basic knowledge of office procedures and business machines.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and pharmaceuticals preferred. Knowledge and experience with an EMR (electronic medical record) is preferred.
  • Must have strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to address sensitive issues in a confidential manner and adhere to the confidentiality policy.
  • Must have a working knowledge of the medical referral process and procedures along with a minimum of two years of related clinical experience.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills and strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must be able to work with minimum supervision.
