Salary: $46,000-$48,000 salary

Wisconsin Family Ties’ Central Region encompasses the following counties: Adams, Brown, Calumet, Crawford, Door, Fond du Lac, Grant, Green Lake, Jackson, Juneau, Kewaunee, La Crosse, Manitowoc, Marquette, Monroe, Oconto, Outagamie, Portage, Richland, Sauk, Sheboygan, Trempealeau, Vernon, Waushara, Winnebago, and Wood. 

Wisconsin Family Ties (WFT) is a social impact non-profit focused on improving the support, understanding, and acceptance of families that include children with social, emotional, behavioral, or mental health challenges. 

We are seeking a passionate, persistent individual to support parents and their children. Use your own life experience as a parent of a child with social, emotional, or behavioral challenges to assist other families like yours. This is a unique opportunity to join the growing peer support profession. 

Position Description 

The Regional Lead provides training, support, and oversight to Parent Peer Specialists (PPSs) within their region while maintaining a caseload of families and serving as their PPS. Regional Leads also serve as backups to Program Manager as needed. 

Duties & Responsibilities

Provide supervision by: 

  • Facilitating regularly scheduled supervision group meetings with PPSs to discuss specific cases, collaboratively determine courses of action, and resolve problems 
  • Training assigned staff in WFT’s peer support model and on techniques and approaches 
  • Providing more intensive consultation and coaching for improvement to PPSs when required 

Provide administrative oversight by: 

  • Managing service inquiries as assigned 
  • Maintaining appropriate work / supervision records 
  • Making Chief Program Officer and Program Manager aware, in a timely manner, of personnel, performance, or practice problems 
  • Participating in recruiting / selecting new staff 
  • Ensuring assigned PPSs’ timesheets are complete, accurate, and submitted on time in accordance with company policy 
  • Reviewing and approving timesheets and progress notes for assigned PPSs when assigned 

Key Requirements

Education

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience 

Experience

  • Experience as a parent or primary caregiver involved in the day-to-day care of a child or adolescent with social, emotional, behavioral, or mental health challenges. No exceptions to this requirement will be considered. 
  • Experience navigating service systems to obtain services for your child. Service systems include mental health, public education, child welfare, substance use treatment, juvenile/family court, and youth justice. 
  • Experience with leadership and group facilitation 

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of resources and services available in your local area/region 
  • Knowledge of wraparound principles and processes preferred 
  • Knowledge of special education processes and requirements preferred 

Skills

  • Solid decision-making skills 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities 
  • Ability to lead meetings and facilitate discussions 
  • Ability to work well with a wide variety of people 
  • Skilled in facilitating conflict resolution 
  • Ability to make presentations and/or deliver trainings 
  • Ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, using proper English grammar, punctuation and spelling 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 products along with a demonstrated ability to quickly learn new software. 

Other Important Information

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle 
  • A private workspace, a smart phone, reliable internet connection, and the ability to join meetings or engage in confidential, sensitive conversations without interruption. 
  • Must have a laptop or device to use through the first week of training. A laptop, phone number, and office supplies are issued after one week of successful employment. 
  • Priority will be given to applicants who are able to support nearby counties if needed 
  • You will work from your home and travel locally to meet with families at locations convenient for them. We also provide our services by video teleconferencing. 
  • Starting wage is dependent upon level of relevant education and experience.
  • Candidates must be able to provide at least two professional references and pass a caregiver background check
