**Description**

**Thomas Cuisine is hiring Cooks for a unique healthcare setting.** The Cook performs a wide variety of tasks and processes to prepare and cook food for patients, employees and visitors, following standard practices and procedures while complying with regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include: follow standard recipes, production sheets, tallies and ingredient room sheet to achieve nutritious, high quality, cost effective meals and handles food and equipment in accordance with sanitation and safety practices in an eating recovery center **Downtown Chicago Area** **$16 /hr.** **Full Time; hours vary**

* Must have previous cooking / health care diet experience preferred

* Possess a friendly outgoing demeanor; work well with customers as well as associates

* Follow cafe guidelines concerning guest services, food and physical safety, maintenance and equipment/space cleaning requirements at all time

* Prepare food items, ensuring consistency and compliance with the Cafe's recipes, portioning, cooking, and waste control guidelines

* Scratch cooking experience is a plus

* Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds

* You will be working 30 to 40 hours per week

* Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background check (Federal & State) and drug screening
