The Treatment Coordinator is most likely the first voice a patient hears on the phone, our ideal candidate should possess excellent phone skills and be able to handle multiple phone lines with confidence and professionalism. The Treatment Coordinator’s main responsibility is to clearly explain treatment options to the patient and will be responsible for coordinating a treatment plan with the doctor and presenting it to the patient along with being knowledgeable about the treatment and timelines with the patient.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet and welcome patients to the dental office
  • Schedule and confirm appointments for dental treatments
  • Educate patients on treatment options, procedures, and payment plans
  • Assist patients in completing necessary paperwork and insurance forms
  • Coordinate with dental team to ensure smooth patient flow and efficient treatment scheduling
  • Follow up with patients to ensure they understand their treatment plans and answer any questions they may have
  • Maintain accurate patient records and update information as necessary
Requirements:

Experience:

  • Previous experience working in a dental office is required
  • Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and insurance billing
  • MUST have experience with Medi-Cal Dental insurance, i.e. checking eligibility, office transfers, pre-estimates and referrals
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and dental team members
  • Strong organizational skills to manage appointment schedules and patient records accurately
  • Proficiency in computer software programs, including dental practice management software
