Business Advisor – Lewiston/South Paris/Hybrid from State of Maine

Community Concepts, is a Maine non-profit whose mission is to provide leadership, education and financial resources to Maine residents to help them meet immediate basic needs while providing families with assistance to help them move out of poverty and become self-sufficient members of the community.

We are seeking a full time Business Advisors to work with our affiliate, Community Concepts Finance Corporation (CCFC), within their Business Technical Assistance division. The Business Advisor works with the Vice President of Operations to provide business technical assistance to businesses that are in the start-up phase and potentially looking for financing from a traditional bank or potentially from CCFC. This position is responsible to provide pre-start-up through initial and continued funding and growth technical assistance to businesses. The majority of the technical assistance will be provided face to face with business owners. This position will assist businesses either to prepare the needed financial package for submission to a lending institution to fund the start-up expansion or growth of their business or work with existing clients to prepare the needed financial track record to move from CCFC’s loans to a traditional financial institution. Regular travel with use of personal vehicle is required, with agency mileage reimbursement. The position is 40 hours per week.

To Qualify: Bachelor’s degree in Business or Finance, or 3-5 years of commensurate experience in lending, finance, economic community development and or running a small business is preferred. Capability to manage multiple responsibilities, client accounts and a rapidly growing client base; a thorough understanding of basic principles of accounting, finance and financial analysis. Strong interpersonal and public speaking skills.

Pre-employment SBI, DMV, DHHS, sex offender registry, federal debarment and fraud background checks and approval of the Small Business Administration. Must have and maintain a valid Maine driver’s license and a vehicle covered by liability insurance; must have a telephone. Must live in Maine or planning to move to Maine in the near future.
