Under supervision and guidance of Registered Nurse, the Student Nurse Intern is responsible to provide daily services involving basic care for patients as well as other assigned unit duties. The Student Nurse Intern must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served. While maintaining patient/customer confidentiality, the Student Nurse Intern promotes good public relations and applies and implements the philosophy, goals and objectives of Tennova Healthcare – Clarksville.

BASIC KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

Education / License / Certification:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Currently enrolled in an approved accredited school of nursing
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
• Completion of nursing fundamentals (first year basic competencies in activities of daily living)
• Medical terminology preferred

Experience / Skills:

• Must be able to respond mentally, physically and appropriately to emergency situations
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced, ever changing, stressful environment
• Normal patient care environment which requires close concentration and attention to detail
