Job Summary

Review construction plans, inspects construction projects, roadway projects, landscape projects, lake excavations, erosion control and/or air quality in order to ensure compliance with state/local laws, approved construction plans/specifications, legal requirements, and ensure compliance with contract specifications, compliance with applicable local, state and county codes, ordinances, regulations, standards, and specifications.
Essential Functions

  • Review construction plans, inspects construction projects, roadway projects, landscape projects, lake excavations, erosion control and/or air quality in order to ensure compliance with state/local laws, approved construction plans/specifications, legal requirements, and ensure compliance with contract specifications, compliance with applicable local, state and county codes, ordinances, regulations, standards, and specifications.
  • Adheres to safety protocols, employs safety gear, and oversees the work environment to ensure the well-being of employees and others. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and standards; stays informed about new construction methods, materials, inspection practices, and professional advancements through literature, affiliations, workshops, and training sessions. Undertakes additional tasks as needed.
  • Essential Employees may be required to work during an undeclared emergency and/or declared emergency.
  • On an incident-by-incident basis, the County's Administrative Office will make the determination as to who will be required to work.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Three (3) years of related experience.
  • Fingerprinting required.

    LICENSES/CERTIFICATES:
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License with any applicable endorsement(s) to drive a County vehicle as provided in CMA 5805.

  • Essential Employees may be required to work during an undeclared or declared emergency. The County's Administrative Office will determine who will be required to work on an incident-by-incident basis.
