Overview:

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Experience Director, the Representative will be point of contact for prospective new members, current members and guests.? The incumbent will handle membership sales and administrative items while demonstrating enthusiasm to members and guests. The Representative works alongside the YMCA Center team to deliver world-class customer service and relationship building skills to create a welcoming environment at the YMCA. The incumbent will also exhibit the core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility in all aspects of their work with the YMCA.

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Ensure that the facility is ready and open for members each morning.
  • Ensure only residents and guests with proper access cards gain entry to the pool
  • Follow and enforce all YMCA procedures and policies, including: personnel guidelines, safety guidelines, facility access procedures and membership policies.
  • Remain around and near the pool area during your shift, scheduled breaks will be required.
  • Educate members to all pool rules and enforce rules and guest policies as required.
  • Ensure that all doors and gates remain closed and not propped open at all times.
  • Report all accidents and incidents to your supervisor immediately using proper forms.
  • Perform daily cleaning duties including but not limited to: bathrooms, empting trash, straighten furniture.
  • Ensure that the facility is secured, and all people are out of the pool area every night.
  • Attend and remain current on all mandatory trainings and staff meetings.
  • Be dressed in appropriate attire (uniform) and wear your name tag.
  • Perform other duties assigned by your supervisor that directly relate to your job.
  • Be knowledgeable and supportive of the YMCA annual support campaign.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Regularly required to use a computer for extended periods of time and be able to communicate using a computer and phone/smart device.???

  • Frequently required to sit, reach and must be able to move around the work environment??

  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds?

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and focus??

  • Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate?

Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum age 18
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Prefer 1 years of relevant experience preferably in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency?
  • Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations?
  • Must be adaptable, have high ownership and strong work ethic?
  • Commitment to shared accountability, teamwork, and creative leadership?
  • Demonstrate an ability to interact positively with people; perform several duties simultaneously and take the initiative to solve participant problems?
  • Understanding the mission and purpose of the YMCA and roles of volunteers and staff?
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, holidays as needed
  • CPR and First Aid certifications required within 30 days of hire?
