Watts Architecture & Engineering is Hiring a Construction Inspector Near Buffalo, NY

Watts is an architecture and engineering (A/E) firm excelling in architecture, civil, environmental, transportation, structural engineering and construction monitoring services with offices in Buffalo, Syracuse, Rochester and New York City.

We have a current opening in our Buffalo office for a highway/bridge Construction Inspector for a local infrastructure project on an interstate highway. The position will represent the owner?s interests and provide oversight of the general contractor?s conformance to the contract documents.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with the contract requirements
  • Understand plans and specifications
  • Document the progression of work
  • Keep records
  • Respond to technical inquiries
  • Review shop drawings and material/equipment submittals
  • Resolve field problems
  • Process payment requests
  • Monitor schedule and budget
  • Provide overall project communications
  • Nighttime work hours will be required ? 10% shift differential for night work

Qualifications:

  • The successful candidate must have solid inspection experience and general all-around knowledge of infrastructure construction including highways, bridges, site work, traffic control, drainage, paving, concrete work and health and safety
  • Skilled in the use of standard software applications
  • Good attitude and communications skills, including written materials
  • A Bachelors or Associates degree preferred, NICET certification or approved equivalent experience required

Salary:

  • $99,000 - $115,000 per year
