POSITION OBJECTIVE
The Center of Innovative Practices is home to a multi-disciplinary team of behavioral healthcare professionals in the areas of systems of care, child, youth and family mental health, substance abuse, trauma, and resilience, providing consultation and technical assistance at the local and state levels on evidence-based practices, program implementation, fidelity evaluation, and system of care policies and practices.
The Center of Innovative Practices recently received a grant to become the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (OhioMHAS's) Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health Center of Excellence. Its goal is to achieve a widespread and sustainable system of care across Ohio. As part of that mission, the Professional Development Specialist will work to ensure that all system of care service providers know about and can access high quality professional development and training opportunities to improve outcomes and retention in the field. Target audiences include baseline entry positions through seasoned clinical providers and supervisors, program managers and administrators across the state of Ohio who are serving our highest need youth and family populations in programs like Wraparound, MRSS, IHBT, Continuum of Care, etc. We anticipate these trainings will serve more than 5,000 people per year. Some trainings will fulfill position requirements and others are designed to support the workforce currently in the field due to the extremely high levels of secondary traumatic stress.
The Professional Development Specialist will work under limited supervision to create and execute a strategic outreach strategy to successfully reach identified constituencies and provide administrative management of Center of Innovative Practices and Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health Center of Excellence's professional development related functions and events. The specialist will function as a technical resource and advisor for both virtual and live training events, which may require traditional and non-traditional work hours and locations.
