GENERAL SUMMARY:
Assists in implementing programs and special events for children and adults with intellectual and/or physical disabilities. This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Duties Greets incoming visitors/participants with a welcoming smile and a verbal hello. Provides hospitality, staff support and communication. Assists in implementation of activities for children and adults who are living with intellectual and/or physical disabilities. Activities may include field trips, dances, various adaptive sports, walking, swimming, track, arts and crafts, fishing, bowling, tennis, volleyball, basketball and more. Assists participants with disabilities with dressing, restroom reminders, eating, transferring to and from a wheelchair, getting in and out of vehicles, and participating in activities. Assists in the maintenance, cleaning, and organization of the general facility, supplies, and equipment.
Qualifications: High School diploma or GED. Minimum 1 year of related experience; or a combination of education and experience. Valid Texas Driver's License with a good driving record. CPR and First Aid Certification within first 6 months of hire.
