Youth Sports/Program instructors and assistants are seasonal part-time employees providing instruction and assistance to youth enrolled in various recreational programs.
Examples of Duties:*Represent the City of Oconomowoc and its philosophy of recreation by providing a positive experience, teaching sportsmanship, and providing a non-threatening learning environment.
*Instruct and supervise class members. Assistants provide support for instructors.
*Instructors performs class planning and design.
*Teach program concept while emphasizing the department's philosophy.
*Assist in the development of daily instructional lesson plans.
*Maintain positive attitudes.
*Maintain open communication with participants, parents, and the Recreation Department staff.
*Performs other duties as assigned.
Typical Qualifications:
*Junior or Senior in High School or above. Assistants can be sophomores and above.
*Demonstrate expertise in the sport taught. 
*Appropriate experience in working with youths and adults in a recreational setting.
*Have an interest in the broad field of recreation and in physical activities, sports or athletics.
*Reliable and available to instruct and/or assist when classes and/or sports are held.
*Successfully complete the application procedure and pass a background check.
