Job Summary
The Part-Time Camp Director is responsible for planning, directing, and supervising all camp programs and staff.
This is a temporary summer position ending on August 11th, 2024.
Duties & Responsibilities
* Oversees camp opening and closing and supervises Part-Time Camp Coordinator(s) and Counselors
* Learns departmental procedures to ensure smooth functioning of all aspects of the camp(s) and ensures that all staff is efficient in all areas
* Sets and supervises office procedures and opening and closing day procedures for staff and campers
* Supervises the ordering of food, supplies, equipment and arranges proper distribution and intake
* Communicates with department, Public Safety, Campus Services and parents
* Attends mandatory assigned training
* Supervises and evaluates all operations and camp staff
* Maintains inventory of all supplies and equipment purchased
* Monitors safety and all procedures as they pertain to the complete supervision of campers and staff
* Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
* Master's degree; or Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution and four (4) years of experience
* Possess current CPR and First Aid Certifications
* All degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
* Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures
* Ability to train staff and supervise staff and campers
* Ability to develop, plan, organize and carry out daily and special programs
* Ability to prepare and provide records and reports of attendance, budget maintenance and staffing schedule
* Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Ability to identify and diffuse problems and possess good conflict resolution skills
* Possess special skills such as, interest in arts, crafts, computers, sports, science, environment, reading or math
* Comfortable working outdoors for extended periods of time under varied environmental conditions
* Ability to work a flexible schedule to include evening and weekend assignments
* Ability to work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty and staff
Additional Requirements
The final candidate is to successfully complete a background screening and reference check process.
