**Description**

The Buyer Indirect Materials is a very important role with both internal and external customers. The Buyer, Indirect (Gasses) will support supply chain strategic initiatives within the indirect categories through suppliers performance and spend analysis, effective supplier negotiations, identification of cost saving opportunities and continuous improvement. This person will work with internal teams and suppliers to help identify cost improvement initiatives that could add value and reduce complexity.

**Key Accountabilities:**

Key Activities for the Procurement Buyer include working with the Global Procurement Team and Subject Matter Experts to provide:

* Integrate indirect procurement activities through Refresco by proactive identification of new sourcing opportunities in Gasses Category, leveraging knowledge of suppliers, supply chain teams and other procurement category managers.

* Plans, organizes, direct and control activities related to each indirect spend category.

* Manage gasses supplier relationship including supplier scorecards, monitoring contract terms & conditions, contract amendments and resolving suppliers issues as needed.

* Examines and analyzes departmental contract requisitions for completeness and accuracy of information; contacts department or initiator to clarify or complete information; determines method to process requisition based on dollar amount, timeliness required, existing open contracts, and/or competitive bidding.

* Identifies and selects vendor to procure requisitioned commodities, meeting criteria such as price, quantity, quality and delivery date and places contracts.

* Identifies requesting departments needs and develops and refines specifications for commodities, supplies or equipment.

* Interviews sales representatives to develop new sources of technical supplies, securing favorable terms for Refresco. Updates records and files.

* Interprets and communicates purchasing procedures to departments; assists departments in initiating new supplier requisitions and solves problems with orders.

* Assist in resolving purchasing problems between plant and suppliers.

**Education and Experience:**

* Bachelors degree in Business, Engineering or Technical Field.

* 1-3 years in Procurement experience.
