Christman Facility Solutions is Hiring a Journeyman Electrician Near Dallas, TX

The Journeyman Electrician is expected to lead and work alongside a crew to perform work for installation, alterations, additions and/or repairs of electrical systems, conductors, and associated materials and equipment within the electrical construction industry; in conformity with local codes and ordinances and according to job specifications and engineered documents.
Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  1. The employee must have personal hand tools as listed in the mandatory tool list
( Journeyman are expected to wear hand tools while on the job-site).
  1. Employee must have dependable transportation.
  2. Employee must be oriented in Christman Handbook and Christman Safety policies and procedures to perform duties in a competent, professional, and courteous manner.
  3. Assist Foreman to perform layout and Pre-plan daily, to procure materials, tools, and equipment with assistance from crew.
  4. Demonstrate knowledge of trade skills and work alongside crew to install a quality product according to plans and specifications.
  5. Assist Foreman to complete and submit all required paperwork to office, including timesheets, requests for material, as-builds, daily logs and pre-task forms.
  6. Maintain company issued tools and PPE in good working order and return damaged tools for repair or replacement and keep secure against theft or loss.
  7. Lead crew to comply with all company policies and procedures with oversight from Foreman or Electrical Superintendent.
  8. Request City inspections and attend all walk-thru' s of job site by AHJ (Authorities having Jurisdiction) and company management.
  9. Assist Foreman to lead crew in meeting production goals and budgets and schedules and assist with completion.
  10. Assist Foreman to Prepare and submit various requests for Shutdowns, Energized Work, Lockout Tag-outs, and facility permits.

Work Environment
The work environment could include regular exposure to fumes or odors, temperature extremes, or loud noises which may cause noticeable discomfort and moderate hazards which can be mitigated. The job requires they wear protective equipment when on the construction site (hardhats and safety glasses). Temperatures and conditions may vary depending on the weather and seasons.
Physical Demands
Continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking/pushing/climbing and lifting material or equipment of heavy weight (>50 lbs.) Employee must be able to perform work at various heights, up to 90' from ladders, scaffold, aerial lifts, catwalks and other safe work areas.
Expected Hours of Work
Full time, at least 40 hours a week. May work nights and weekends, construction may, at times, continue around the clock to meet deadlines.
Travel
Must have reliable transportation. Travel to and from the construction site is required. Long distance travel can be required which may include overnight stays depending on the project.
Required Education and Experience
  1. High School Diploma or GED
  2. Four (4 ) or more years of relevant work experience and proven established work history for the position.
  3. Current State issued Journeyman Electrician License
  4. First-Aid/CPR with AED
  5. OSHA10 certification
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
  1. Must have the ability to read, write and communicate in English fluently. Comprehends blue-prints, schematics, and labels, have working knowledge of codes and local ordinances and can troubleshoot.
  2. Must have at least 4 years of commercial electrical experience including some leadership role and communicate effectively.
  3. Must be qualified to operate trenchers and aerial man lifts and have experience with power tools, saws, knockout punches, wire tuggers, pipe benders, and trade specific hand tools.
  4. Must comprehend all company safety policies to apply and consistently practice safe work procedures.
  5. Can legally and safely operate company trucks, including lift-gate.
  6. Trained and experienced to work on or in proximity to energized electrical parts or circuit conductors with necessary approvals and permits.
