Christman Facility Solutions is Hiring an Apprentice Electrician Near Dallas, TX

Position Summary
The Electrician Apprentice will be working under the direct supervision of a licensed Journeyman Electrician/Foreman. This position will help in the installations, alterations, additions and / or repair of electrical systems, conductors and associated materials and equipment within the commercial electrical industry. Full time employees should complete 2,000 hours of on-the-job training each year of apprenticeship.
Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  1. Assist electricians by performing tasks under the direct supervision of an Electrician Lead
  2. Fulfill and comply with all requirements as described in the Christman Handbook
  3. Demonstrate safe work habits and proper care and use of tools and equipment
  4. Comprehend and practice safe work procedures as outlined in the Company Safety Policy & Handbook
  5. Mount and strap conduit raceways and boxes as instructed
  6. Assist in wire pulls with direct supervision
  7. Installation of general use receptacle and basic switching devices
  8. Assist the supervisor to track material usage and what material needs to be ordered.
  9. Dig trenches, either by use of hand tools or power equipment
  10. Operate two (2) handed tools/equipment: cable cutters, hammer drills, benders, etc.
  11. Properly plan and execute specific work as directed.
  12. Keep all material, tools and equipment in an orderly fashion and maintain a clean work area.
  13. Identify safety hazards that you or other employees may be subject to and take all necessary corrective action to eliminate or minimize hazards.
  14. Perform other position appropriate duties as required in a competent, professional, and courteous manner.
  15. Complete all required and assigned training for this role.

Work Environment
The work environment could include regular exposure to fumes or odors, temperature extremes, or loud noises which may cause noticeable discomfort and moderate hazards which can be mitigated. The job requires they wear protective equipment when on the construction site (hardhats and safety glasses). Temperatures and conditions may vary depending on the weather and seasons.
Physical Demands
Continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking/pushing/climbing and lifting material or equipment of heavy weight (>50 lbs.) Employee must be able to perform work at various heights from ladders, scaffold, aerial lifts, catwalks and other safe work areas.
Expected Hours of Work
Full time position. Extended hours and weekends may apply.
Travel
Travel to and from the construction site is required. Long distance travel may be required which may include overnight stays depending on the project.
Required Education and Experience
  1. High School Diploma or GED
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
  1. Registration with TDLR for the State Electrical Apprentice License must be completed on 1st day of employment if not already licensed.
  2. Have personal hand tools and tool belt/pouch within the first 3 months of employment (refer to the mandatory tool list provided during onboarding)
  3. Maintain current driver's license and reliable transportation.
  4. The ability to read, write and communicate effectively.
  5. Have the ability to take measurements and make calculations.
  6. Ability to work well with supervision and peers.
  7. Ability to problem solve when errors occur.
  8. Must be conscious of time schedules and deadlines.
  9. Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
