Chimes is Hiring an Utility Worker Near Aberdeen, MD

Shift: 7:00am - 3:30pm

Job Summary:

Perform a variety of cleaning and building services in public and work space areas including executive and command areas and provide service through special requests by customer.

Essential Functions:

* Comply with all Agency policies and procedures and follow contract specifications

* Work full shift as scheduled

* Respond to customer requests for help as assigned by project manager

* Receive supplies, chemicals, and equipment from shipping activity

* Organize supplies and equipment as required

* Drive company vehicles during performance of duties as required

* Deliver materials, documents, personnel, or miscellaneous items around site

* Collect, wash, and organize mops and rags by color coding after laundry operations

* Operate washer and dryer

* Distribute clean mops and rags to team for services

* Clean vehicles/vans inside and out as required

* Assist Chimes Operational Personnel with installing signs/posters & doing minor repair

* Assist Project Manager with equipment repairs, maintenance tasks, or mechanical issues

* Perform custodian's and floor tech's functions when needed

* Clean all restroom fixtures and surfaces

* Keep restrooms supplied with paper towels, toilet tissue, soap, seat-cover liners ,and other required items

* Pull trash

* Police, sweep, and wet mop restroom floors

* Escort subcontractors and track work and performance when necessary

* Oversee equipment tracking program to ensure personnel keep up with maintenance/cleaning on a consistent basis

* Communicate effectively with staff and co-workers

* Maintain good communication with customers and respond to their needs

* Observe all post security procedures and ensure other staff members also comply

* Comply with rules for the site, security and safety guidelines and Chimes District of Columbia, Inc. Rules for the Workplace and OSHA/TOSHA regulations

* Attend meetings with government, facility, and customer representatives when required

* Attend work regularly according to assigned work schedule and participate in in-service training, staff meetings, and other activities to facilitate professional development

* Follow instructions and abide by policies and procedures

Secondary Functions:

* Clean and maintain equipment

* Perform inventory on supplies and equipment

* Keep records and provide requested reports

* Perform other related duties for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the site.

* Duties, responsibilities, and tasks may change at any time with or without notice

Physical Abilities Needed to Meet Work Demands:

* Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time

* Ability to go up and down stairs

* Ability to reach above the head, bend, kneel, stoop

* Ability to lift, carry, and push up to 75 lbs.

* Ability to work in dusty spaces or adverse weather conditions

* Ability to see details on the floor, above the head, or on surfaces

Essential Personnel:

This position is designated as essential. This means that when the facility is faced

with an institutional emergency, employees in this position may be required to remain at their

work location or to report to work to protect, recover, and continue operations at the facility.

Other requirements:

* Valid driver's license from state of residence and ability to drive

* License must have been valid for at least 3 years

* If driving a 15 passenger van, must be at least 25 years old

* Acceptable driving record as determined by Agency's insurance carrier and by Chimes DC policies and procedures

Education:

* High School diploma or equivalent preferred

* Custodial training preferred

Experience:

* Six months of custodial experience preferred

* Knowledge of safety practices and procedures

* Candidates with disabilities preferred
