Please note this is an in person role for sites in Escondido, CA. Candidates must be able to commute to schools in Escondido.
Be a part of a team that helps shape the future generation! We are looking for fun, smart, and enthusiastic instructor for our enrichment classes , Spring and Summer break workshops with a distinctly Challenge Island flair.
Our programs promote higher-level thinking skills through collaborative project-based, student-driven learning without digital devices. This
position is perfect for student aides, teachers working on credentials, college students, teachers (substitute, floater and retired), seeking to supplement income. Classroom management experience is preferred.
We will train you in in our unique program and teaching philosophy and you will assist a lead instructor / teacher.
This is a part-time position, ranging from 6 to 7 hours per day on 3-5 days of the week. Candidates must be available and commit between March 25 and March 29. Summer Camps times to be determined later.
Requirements:
  • Must be passionate about working with children preferably with elementary age children.
  • Must be a team player and be able to work with teams.
  • Previous experience in a teaching position desired
  • Must have some college credits or continuing education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must have reliable transportation/ vehicle. Must maintain / carry automobile insurance for Liability.
  • Must complete Criminal Background Check (Live Scan) and TB Assessment prior to employment.
Responsibilities
  • Plan lessons and prepare material for the workshops
  • Cultivate a positive learning environment for students
  • Liaison with the site coordinator and management to coordinate and successfully deliver the workshops
  • Provide timely (weekly) feedback/ report for the workshops conducted to management.
