Central Maine Community Health Corporation is Hiring a Remote SNAP-Ed Nutrition Educator/Part Time

At Central Maine Healthcare our team members are committed to providing exceptional care and experiences for our community and for each other every day. This grant funded program teaches eligible community members how to eat healthy on a budget and lead physically active lifestyles. SNAP-Ed Nutrition Educators provide eligible populations and families with easy ways to shop, cook, and eat healthy food on a budget by providing direct education opportunities to children, adults, families, and older adults. The direct education components are also supported by implementation of policy, systems, and environmental change strategies. The Nutrition Educator will report directly to the appropriate Health Promotion Manager. This position will be required to keep detailed records for reporting and evaluation. The candidate will work independently, be well-organized, and possess a strong attention to detail. Travel is required throughout Androscoggin County and occasionally to statewide trainings. Position dependent on continuous funding. Candidate must meet all state mandated immunization requirements for healthcare facilities. Job Requirements & Responsibilities • Bachelor’s degree in public health, health education, nutrition or related field preferred. Comparable experience may be substituted. • Experience in community organizing, public health and health promotion, education, nutrition and/or health education (preferred) • Ability to implement Maine SNAP-Ed program deliverables in accordance with USDA SNAP-Ed, Maine Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and University of New England (UNE) requirements. • Develop new and strengthen existing partnerships with community-based agencies. • Partner with local school districts, childcare centers, community centers, and other organizations serving low-income families to implement evidence-based nutrition programs. • Work with community partners to develop and/or implement selected policy, systems and environmental change strategies that supplement the direct education. • Attend required trainings and meetings, both in-person and online, in accordance with grant funding. • Complete reporting and evaluation processes as set by specific funders. • Perform other duties as assigned by the Health Promotion Manager and the Executive Director of Healthy Androscoggin.
