**This Position is Eligible for a Sign-On Bonus of $2,000**

$1,000 payable on next scheduled paycheck following 30 days of employment and

$1,000 payable at the completion of the conditional employment period which is typically six months in length.

Sign-On Bonus payment will be subject to required payroll taxes

Must work 20 or more hours per week to be eligible

Employee must be in good standing and active status to be eligible for payment

Salary Commensurate With Experience

Masters Degree: Minimum Starting Salary $79,310

Doctorate Degree: Minimum Starting Salary $82,576

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Performs advanced (senior-level) habilitation or therapeutic rehabilitation work. Work involves coordinating rehabilitation activities for clients within a program area and developing protocols for an assigned program in habilitation or rehabilitation therapy services. May assign and/or supervise the work of others. Works under minimal supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Demonstrate high ethical standards, trustworthiness, and personal integrity. Regular attendance, dependability, and promptness are essential for the successful execution of the positions duties and responsibilities.
  • Interact effectively with all customers, internally as well as externally. Willing to accept coaching, constructive criticism, and cooperate with others while developing effective working relationships with all team members. Must support team concepts and help others work toward team objectives.
  • Screening, Evaluation/Assessment and Treatment planning This function requires the therapist to work as a strong and vital part of a transdisciplinary team to provide essential, in-depth diagnostic input on the development of referred children 0-3 years. The therapist will be competent in the use of the required standardized tests, observations of developmental skills, and interview techniques to screen and evaluate referred children for developmental delays and assistive technology needs. The therapist will contribute to the development and review of the IFSP, by addressing appropriate developmental skills and the identified needs and concerns of the child and family.
  • Advanced family training, home visits, therapeutic instructions, and other support--The therapist will offer support to parents and staff on activities and strategies to encourage the child’s development and to provide specific therapeutic techniques to children 0 - 3 with developmental delays, using the coaching model of service delivery.
  • Deliver a minimum of 75 80 hours of direct services each month. During months that service providers do not have the target amount of service planned the performance requirement will be 80% of planned services delivered.
  • The therapist will ensure that their services will begin within 28 days of the initial IFSP 100% of the time. Document all efforts to overcome barriers to services beginning on time.
  • Documentation This function requires that the therapist clearly and legibly document services provided to include ongoing progress notes, consultation notes, professional reports, correspondence, and IFSP’s. All chart documentation will be turned in on a weekly basis by the established deadline 100% of the time. In addition, employee time sheets, travel logs, and other employee and ECI child documentation will be turned as required. Professional reports will be turned in no later than the 5th working day of the month following the month the evaluation was completed.
  • Write the majority of progress notes in the home with input from the family. All notes must contain required elements.
  • MAC the therapist will participate in the Random Moment Time Study and the associated training as required.
  • Professional Development - This function requires the therapist to successfully complete the professional training to maintain competency and meet the continuing education required by professional standards and the Center. Occasionally the staff person may need to drive within or outside the five (5) counties in order to participate in a special activity, such as a conference.
  • Supervise and train students, interns, and other therapists as appropriate. This function requires the therapist to supervise and train students, interns, and other staff and therapists in therapeutic techniques for the pediatric population as needed by the program.
  • Feedback from 95% of families served is positive. The feedback may be from parent satisfaction questionnaires sent out by the program, phone calls or other contacts made by supervisors to families, and/or from family-initiated contacts with the program or the state office.
  • Support program events such as Child Find activities and other special events.
  • Accept assignment of services to be provided in a language other than English as determined by the primary language of the referred/enrolled children and their routine caregivers as the needs arise. Provide support in the form of translation and interpretation to other team members serving these same children and families. Meeting this job requirement makes the staff member eligible for the bilingual stipend according to the PPM policy 205:2.
  • Must stay compliant with all required training.
  • Frequent daily driving within the catchment area is required.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS

Experience/Education/Licensing/Certification

  • Experience in therapeutic techniques in appropriate area.
  • Degree in appropriate therapy area.
  • Certification and/or licensure in appropriate area of therapy.

Additional Requirements

  • Must have and maintain a valid drivers’ license with an acceptable driving record.
