Central Coast Dentist is Hiring a Dental front office Near Arroyo Grande, CA

The Dental Assistant / Front office float position.

We are seeking an ideal candidate who can perform both clinical and administrative tasks to support our small family dental practice and team.

We prefer a candidate that is already cross-trained to provide assistance in both the front and back office, but we are willing to train the right candidate.

Summary of Essential Job Functions :

  • Prepare treatment rooms, instruments and tray setups for dental procedures.
  • Assist the dentist during examinations and treatment procedures.
  • Conduct work in compliance with office policies and procedures, safety and OSHA guidelines.
  • Greet patients upon arrival and assist in answering incoming phone calls.
  • Ensure patients have updated all necessary paperwork prior to treatment.
  • Assist with on-call and reactivation patient lists to ensure openings in the practice schedule are filled.
  • Assist with collecting payments from patients at the time of treatment and scheduling future patient appointments.
  • Assist with monitoring and organizing outgoing / incoming patient referrals and specialist updates.
  • Dispatch lab work appropriately and check in lab cases as they arrive.
  • Maintain regular, predictable attendance.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned.

Preferred but not required :

  • Current Basic life support (CPR) Certification.
  • Radiation Safety Certificate (X-ray license).
  • Knowledge of general administrative and clerical procedures specific to a dental office environment.
  • Proof of course completion in the California Dental Practice Act (CDPA) and Infection Control for Dental Assistants (8-hour) within 12 months of employment.

Skill requirements :

Excellent attendance.

Team Player

Ability to perform detailed work according to established formats and protocols.
